Different research styles

A. The Theorist

I am primarily driven by mathematical elegance and fundamental understanding. I enjoy proving theorems and developing theory, even when practical applications are not yet apparent.

B. The Algorithm Designer

I am motivated by designing new algorithms and improving existing ones. If an idea consistently outperforms the state of the art in practice, I find it exciting, even if the theoretical understanding is incomplete.

C. The Application-Driven Researcher

I am primarily interested in solving real-world problems. I value methods that have a tangible impact, regardless of whether they are theoretically optimal.
